Alberto Ascari

Alberto Ascari (born 13 July 1918 in Milan, died 26 May 1955 in Monza) was an Italian racing driver who competed in Formula 1 from 1950 to his death in 1955. He won 13 GPs, a record at the time, two World Championships in 1952 and 1953 as well as titles in multiple parallel divisions of the championship. He was killed on May 26th 1955 in Monza while testing a sportscar, just four days after somersaulting into the Monaco harbour. He was the youngest driver to win a World Championship until Mike Hawthorn in 1958.
